THE ORDER-ORDER TRANSITIONS (OOT) OF C→G→L→S UNDERGOING DIFFERENT G PLANE IN ABC TRIBLOCK COPOLYMER FILM INDUCED BY SATURATED SOLVENT VAPOR
Among those typical microdomain structures of block copolymers, gyroid (G) structure has attracted a great deal of interest because of its complex but highly symmetric structure (space group 1a3d) 1. The problem of the order-order transitions (OOTs) and the order-disorder transitions (ODTs) between the G structure and the other microdomain structures of block copolymers are still open. Herein, the morphology transition of the thin film of poly (styrene)-b-poly (butadiene)-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine) (SBV) triblock terpolymers with the coexisting bulk phase structures of core-shell-cylinder and metastable alternating lamella-cylinder pattern induced in the benzene vapor with slightly selectivity for PS at room temperature is investigated in detail. It could be seen that the ascast SBV triblock copolymer film showed a disordered wormlike pattern (Figure la) due to the fast solvent evaporation, leaving the chains having no enough time to rearrange to attain equilibrium morphology during the spin coating.
