HIGH-PERFORMANCE EXFOLIATED POLY(PROPYLENE)/CLAY NANOCOMPOSITES BY IN-SITU POLYMERIZATION WITH A NOVEL Z-N/CLAY COMPOUND CATALYST
In the late 1980s, Toyota researchers1,2 successfully prepared nylon-6/clay nanocomposites with unique properties, such as enhanced mechanical properties, increased heat distortion temperature and decreased gas/vapor permeability1-4. This achievement encouraged both academic and industrial researchers to create high-performance poly (propylene) (PP)/clay nanocomposites with well dispersed clay in PP matrix for potential applications in the field of packaging and the automobile industry.
