RING-SHAPED MORPHOLOGY FORMATION OF PS-b-PAA MICELLES ON GRAPHITE
Ring-shaped morphology is a unique structure through self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers. In general, most experimental work has been directed at self-assembly behaviors of block copolymers to nano- or micron-length rings in onestep by controlling solution conditions. There are many explanations for the formation of ring-shaped morphologies, including mechanical strain fields,1 vesicles broken in the center,2 cylindrical micelles end-to-end connection3 and so on. But there is large size-span for block copolymers to fabricate rings in one-step. Micelle is an ideal candidate to bridge molecular and nanoscale feature sizes.
