INVESTIGATION INTO THE SYNTHESIS AND LUMINESCENT PROPERTIES OF 1,2,3-TRIAZOLE CONTAINING COPOLYMERS VIA RAFT POLYMERIZATION

In recent years, the polymer science has undergone a renaissance as the development of the ability to design, construct and modify the macromolecules. The majority of the polymer structures are based on polymerization or functionalization of vinyl monomers. Thus, the design of a monomer becomes especially important. Click reaction which was formerly described by Huisgen has been considered as a powerful tool to design or synthesize function material and connect various functional entities with extremely efficient. In addition, the 1,2,3-triazole ring, formed from click chemistry, has been reported as an active moiety to coordinate with a variety of metal ions. Following this way, a triazole containing monomer, 2-methyl-acrylic acid l-(7-diethylamino-2oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)-lH-l,2,3 triazol-4-ylmethyl ester (CTEMA), was designed and synthesized from azides and alkyenes by the catalysis of Cu(I) via click chemistry in this paper. On the other hand, interest in rare earth ions-containing polymers has been greatly stimulated by their potential use in fluorescence and laser materials. The popularity of lanthanide ions roots from their two main advantages, they emit narrow-band radiation providing high chromatic purity and they are qualified by a long excited-state lifetime. The methods for preparing rare earth ions-containing polymers are versatile.
