AUTONOMOUS STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING OF BRIDGES BY ACCELERATION-BASED AND IMPEDANCE-BASED SMART SENSOR NODES
In this study, acceleration-based and impedance-based smart sensors are developed for autonomous SHM of bridge structures. Firstly, two-type smart sensors for the hybrid health monitoring are developed. One is the acceleration-based smart sensor using MEMs accelerometer to monitor the global damage. The other is the impedance-based smart sensor to monitor the local damage. Secondly, a hybrid monitoring algorithm using smart sensors is proposed for autonomous structural health monitoring. Finally, the performance of the developed system is evaluated in laboratory-scaled bridge models.
