EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF INFLUENCE OF CONCRETE STRESS HISTORY ON ITS LATTER PERFORMANCE

In order to study the influence of early loading on concretes latter performance, 28 concrete specimens (100mm×100mm×100mm) were made, whose strength grade, were C30 and C50.Those samples were cured 3 days and 5 days respectively, and then under sustained load (70 percent of 3 day and 5 day strength) for 28 days. The durative testing device which applied steel spring plate was designed to deal with the download problem. The difference between the samples which were standard curing 28 days and the samples which were under sustained load after 3 day or 5 day standard curing was compared. It was found that the strength of samples (grade C30) has little change although they were under sustainedload, and the strength of samples (grade C50) decreased by 4.03%. The conclusion was gained that concrete has the autogenously healing ability, and which leads to that preloading has little influence on its latter performance.
