EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE BOND BEHAVIOR BETWEEN BFRP TENDON AND CONCRETE
As a new-style material, basalt fiber reinforced polymer tendon (BFRP tendon) as a substitute for steel bars used in concrete structure is an effective method which could resolve the problem of concrete durability aroused by the corrupt of steel bars. For the mechanical performance of BFRP tendon and the bond behavior between BFRP tendon and concrete were not clear, ribbed and deformed BFRP tendon of diameter 8 mm tensile test and standard pullout test were made and compared with steel bars of diameter 8 and 10 mm standard pullout test. The test result shows that the BFRP tendon has high tensile strength and low elastic modulus compared to steel bar; the bond strength between BFRP tendon and concrete is similar to steel bars with the same diameter and presents good bond performance; and the bond strength ratio of the two different bars is 1.04, so the bond strength relative coefficient of BFRP tendon could considered as 1.0.
