EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON AUTOGENOUS SHRINKAGE OF EARLY-AGE CONCRETE
This paper presents the results of an investigation aimed at understanding and characterizing the autogenous shrinkage of early-aged concrete. The influence of different parameters was studied, Trcluding the water to cement ratio, the paste content, the use of fly ash and silica fume. The results indicate that autogenous shrinkage is significantly influenced by these parameters. These results show that early-age autogenous shrinkage increases with the decreasing of the water to cement ratio and the increasing with the paste content. The results also indicate that the autogenous shrinkage is reduced with the addition of fly ash, while it increases with the addition of silica fume.
