THE ENVIRONMENTAL APPRAISAL OF REUSE OF WASTE CONCRETE

At present, more than 4-hundred million waste brick and concrete are produced every year in China. In these building waste, over 60% is waste concrete, and there is enormous waste because of approximately 95% of them was not resued as useful building material resource. The recycled use of waste concrete accords with recycling economy development strategy of China, and takes a vital position in Chinas development of recycling economy. According to the theory of Life Cycle Assessmenf.combining environmental cost with traditional manufacturing cost and taking into account material cost, utilizing quantized index of environmental assessment, this paper analyzes and evaluates the environmental benefit of recycle use of waste concrete. The analyses show that the recycle use of waste concrete will effectively reduce the consumption of nonrenewable resources and energy, halt the greenhouse effect, preserve soil and water.
