EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON BOND-ANCHORAGE BEHAVIOR OF STEEL BARS IN CONCRETE WITH TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICAL ANCHORAGE MEASURES
Property of anchorage is one of the essential questions for discussion of reinforced concrete structure. For ensuring enough anchorage length which leads many trouble in construction, the measure of mechanical anchorage can solve this problem efficiently. Two measures of mechanical anchorage in end of the rebars are studied, which are jointing with symmetric short re-bars and with anchor plate. Based on the pull-out test results of 2 groups (72 specimens) of deformed steel bars with different mechanical anchorage measure in end of the bars, the bondanchorage behavior of deformed steel bars in concrete with mechanical anchorage measures is discussed, the main factors affecting the bond-anchorage behavior such as the strength of concrete, the diameter of bars, the development length of bars, the cover thickness of concrete and the stirrup ratio are analyzed. The empirical formulas for bond-anchorage strength of deformed steel bars with the mechanical anchorage measures are suggested. The results show that the development length of deformed steel bars with mechanical anchorage measures can be decreased in engineering, and this may be server a reference for future revision of the design code involved.
