PARAMETER STUDY ON CONCRETE DAMAGED PLASTIC MODEL OF ABAQUS

Nonlinear FE analysis of four RC simply supported beams under monotonic load was carried out using ABAQUS concrete damaged plastic (CDP) model. The analytical results were compared with the experimental data for the purpose of verifying the applicability and the parameters of the CDP model. In addition, the influence of the parameters including the constitutive relation of concrete, Poissons ratio, dilation angle and viscosity coefficient on the analytical results was studied through parametric analyses. The results indicate that the constitutive relation and viscosity coefficient have a significant effect on the accuracy of the analysis, and other parameters are not significant. The analytical results using the concrete constructive equation recommended by the Chinese Code for Design of Concrete Structures have good agreements with the test results. Considering the efficiency and accuracy comprehensively, 10-5 is recommended for viscosity coefficient.
