SHEAR CAPACITY OF SIMPLE SUPPORTED RC BEAM WITH WEB OPENING

摘要：

Based on the experimental results of simple supported reinforced concrete (RC) beam with circular web opening and rectangular web opening under concentrated loads, formulas for calculating the shear capacity of the beams are presented. Researches exhibit that the formulas are suitable for calculating the shear capacity of those beams, failure occurs outside the openings; the calculated results of 132 specimens referred to literatures by proposed formulas in this paper are in good agreement with the experimental shear capacity; the suggested formulas are relatively convenient and coordinate with the Chinese design codes and can be directly applied to practical situations with complicated working conditions.
