NON-LINEAR FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF LOCAL BUCKLING ON SINGLY SYMMETRIC CUT-T COLUMNS
The width-thickness of cut-T shaped steel webs was larger than that of traditional assembled T section with double angles and local buckling was liable to happen on webs of cut-T shapes. In order to study the web local buckling of cut-T shapes, a series of cut-T specimen was tested under monotonic loading and then non-linear finite element models were established accordingly. Based on experimental and analytical results, the simplified formulation of widththickness limit for webs was presented. The analysis results indicated that local buckling was apt to occur on webs of cut-t section type TN under axial loading and the simplified formulation of widththickness limit for webs was feasible.
