OVERSTRENGTH FACTOR STUDY OF STEEL PLATE SHEAR WALL WITH SEMI-RIGID CONNECTED STEEL FRAMES
To study the overstrength factor of the steel plate shear wall with semi-rigid connected steel frame, a series of the structures with different spans and stories are designed according to Chinese seismic codes in this paper. Nonlinear analysis of the designed structures is done through static pushover (SPO) method and a synthetically method, which combine incremental dynamic analysis (EDA) and static pushover (SPO) together. Performance point for calculation of overstrength factor is defined during the analysis. From the study a conservative overstrength factor of the steel plate shear wall with semi-rigid connected steel frames, which designed with Chinese seismic codes, is presented as 4.0.The influence of different spans and stories for overstrength factor is discussed in this paper also.
