EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SHORT COLUMNS OF HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE FILLED SQUARE STEEL TUBE WITH INNER CFRP CIRCULAR TUBE UNDER AXIALLY COMPRESSIVE LOAD

Experiments on 12 short columns of high-strength concrete filled square steel tube with inner CFRP circular tube under axially compressive load and 6 short columns of high-strength concrete filled square steel tube under axially compressive load were done. The axial load-longitudinal strain curves and ultimate bearing capacity were obtained. It is found that inner high-strength concrete encounters double tight hooping effect from CFRP tube and square steel tube. So its deformation is restrained and brittleness is improved. The ductility and bearing capacity of specimens are improved with the increasing of steel ratio for short columns of highstrength concrete filled square steel tube with the same inner CFRP circular tube. With the same steel ratio, the bearing capacity of specimens will be improved with the increasing of the comparative ratio of CFRP tube and the ratio of square steel tube. The formula of bearing capacity on the short columns of high-strength concrete filled square steel tube with inner CFRP circular tube under axially compressive load is regressed. The comparison of the experimental data and the results from the proposed equations shows good consistency.
