SHOCK RESISTANCE ANALYSIS ON A DOUBLE CIRCUIT INTERMEDIATE TOWER
Shock resistance of a 500 kV double circuit intermediate tower constructed in Guangdong is analyzed by using general software ANSYS. Results show that: (1) incident angle of earthquake wave impacts a lot on the tower and various parts of the tower have different reactions; (2) different incident angles of earthquake waves can lead to mixed reaction to damping effect causing by wire; (3) after considering the weight of wires and cross arms, axis stresses of the web members connected with cross arms in the tower are still obvious; (4) wires cause the damping effect on the chords of tower, so there exists a little effect on the tower causing by earthquake.
