SEMI-ANALYTICAL FINITE STRIP ELEMENT METHOD FOR LOCAL STABILITY ANALYSIS OF LARGE-SCALE THIN SHELL AQUEDUCT
Based on the method of semi-analytical finite strip element to analyze the large-scale thin shell aqueduct local stability. Considering the characteristic of the large-scale thin shell aqueduct local stability, the displacement pattern of semianalytical finite strip element method has been established and the elastic stiffness matrix and the geometry stiffness matrix of the finite strip element have been deduced. With the software development which uses the finite strip element method to analyze the thin shell aqueduct local stability, this essay shows the instability rule of thin shell aqueduct and discusses that the parameters such as aqueduct upper margin width, thickness, height-to-thickness ratio and aspect ratio have a great influence on the aqueduct instability critical stress. Result shows that this method is helpful to solve the problem of large-scale thin shell aqueduct local stability and its also a reliable computational method for the large-scale thin shell aqueduct local stability analysis.
