INFLUENCES OF RIGIDITY OF ADJACENT WEB MEMBERS ON EFFECTIVE LENGTH OF COMPRESSIVE WEB MEMBERS IN TRUSS STRUCTURE
Based on classical elastic stability theory and related research results, the equations of calculating effective length coefficient of compressive members in truss structures considering joint rigidity of adjacent web members are deduced. Compared with current calculation methods, the method proposed in the paper is more general. Results shows that the calculated effective length coefficient of compressive members in truss structures decreases, when the restraining effects of adjacent web members are considered; and all the calculated effective length coefficient of compressive members in truss structures calculated by the proposed method in the study are smaller than those calculated by current codes, when reasonable rigidity restraints of adjacent web members are considered.
