THE EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON THE MORTISE-TENON JOINT ANCIENT TIMBER STRUCTURES
Chinese traditional architecture holds a very important position in the world with its timber structure, long history, large quantity, complex structure, rich scientific and cultural content, and excellent quality of anti-earthquake. The mortisetenon structure is the best feature of the timber structure buildings. The low cyclic reversed loading tests were carried out on the typical mortise-tenon joints of historic timber structures. The semi-rigid characteristic of the joggle joint and the change rules of stiffness degradation were obtained. The moment-deflection angle hysteretic curves and skeleton curve were tested. The formula between the moment-deflection and the angle were fitted by the skeleton curve. From the result of the test, It is shown that the stiffness change of the mortise-tenon joint is nonlinear.
