ASSESSMENT METHOD AND APPLICATION OF TRAFFIC LOAD EFFECT OF GIRDER BRIDGE IN SERVICE
A total probabilistic assessment model is developed for a better estimation of the actural service load effect level of a bridge. Based on a five-day collection of the vehicle load samples passing through the exit of Guangyuan to Shane of the NorthRing Highway in Guangzhou and on the existing statistic data of traffic flow and vehicle speed, a model is developed to simulate the actual traffic flow. New methods in extreme value statistics are used, i.e. threshold model and threshold point process. Then the Qiaole Bridge is taken as an example to show the maximum load effect distribution of the bridge under current traffic flow. Finally, for forecasting the load effect level of this inservice bridge in a future time period, maximum value distribution of bridge load effect in a time period is inferred. The example and analysis results prove that the assessment method proposed in this paper has comparative feasibility and validity.
