THE STRENGTHENING OF ZINI BRIDGE WITH EXTERNAL PRESTRESSING TENDONS

According to the inspecting and testing result of the deteriorations on Zini Bridge, the load bearing capacity of Zini bridge in Panyu district is deficient. A strengthening methtod by external prestressing tendons is proposed to retrofit the deficiencies and increase the safety margin. In this paper, the details of external prestressing system, anchoring structure and deviator structure are described exhaustively. The load bearing capacity improved by external prestressing tendons has been verified by structure analysis. The project practice of rehabilitation engineering proves the technique feasibility, construction convenience, cost competition and target achievement, the rehabilitation is proved successfully by static and dynamic load test. This case can be regarded as a valuable reference for similar engineering design.
