STUDY ON CREEP OF CONCRETE UNDER FREEZE-THAW CYCLES

This paper introduces the three creep prediction models (ACI209R-92, CEB-FIP1990 and B3) respectively, and further summarizes parameters required by various analytical models for prediction of creep in concrete. Coefficients of variation of errors are analyzed by comparison of their prediction value and experiment data while the reliability of modifications of the B3 model is discussed. On the basis of the B3 modification, which is easy to achieve and reliable, and the method put forward by Bazant, which improves the creep prediction by shorttime tests, the calculation method for prediction of concrete creep under freeze-thaw effect is presented by adopting updating coefficients expressed as the function of cycles of freeze-thaw and stress levels. The prediction value of the modified model is in good agreement with the experiment data. This modification method theoretically improves approaches for prediction of concrete creep under the situation of actual engineering effect.
