EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON INFLUENCE OF FLEXURAL LOADING ON PERMEABILITY OF CHLORIDE ION IN RC BEAMS UNDER MAN-MADE CORROSION ENVIRONMENT
The permeability of chloride ion in concrete can be studied, using accelerated aging method in a short period, but the influence of structural loading characteristics on permeability of chloride ion is generally ignored. A series of RC beams (120mm×240mm×2400mm) specimens was exposed in a loaded state in an artificial corrosion container filled with salt-fog of 5.0% sodium chloride separately for 40, 80 and 160 days, and chloride ion concentration in different depths at different position were measured, the effect of flexural loading has been analyzed from chloride ingress depths and chloride ion concentration. The results show that the effect of flexural load influences permeability of chloride ion in concrete and there is a correlation relationship between chloride diffusion coefficient and loading level and corrosion time.
