STUDY ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE FRAME
The study addresses the issue of seismic design method for reinforced concrete structures in current Chinese codes by comparing with the present internationally advanced performance-based seismic design method. Based on a great number of the domestic and foreign literatures, the paper carries on the refinement to Chinas seismic level and the performance level. The seismic level of building structures is divided into four levels here. Under the different seismic level, the building structural performance level is also divided into four run phases of structure. Taking reinforced concrete frame (RC frame) as the research structure, through statistical analysis of a large number of domestic and foreign tests of RC frame, story drift angle limits of the RC frame structure in four run phases are quantified. Subsequently, by taking the six-story and eight-story three-dimensional RC frames as examples, elastic-plastic analysis using software SAP2000 is conducted on the examples. Two natural waves and an artificial wave are selected to load separately on two RC frames, and then the story drift angle limits of RC frame can be obtained. From the result of simulation analysis, the story drift angle limits of the statistical analysis seem to be reasonable.
