EARTHQUAKE RESPONSES OF SEISMICALLY ISOLATED STRUCTURE WITH DIFFERENT DAMPING
Above the foundation, isolation structure includes isolation layer and superstructure. When earthquake response of isolation structure is analyzed, in China, basing on the vibration model of isolation structure, which includes isolation layer, Rayleigh damping matrix is formed;however in Japan, basing on the vibration model of superstructure, stiffness proportional damping matrix is formed.Base on the different vibration model, this paper in detail discusses the difference of earthquake responses by using Rayleigh damping, stiffness proportional damping, mass proportional damping and modal damping, puts forward reasonable proposals of damping matrix formation in isolation calculation, to ensure the overall seismic safety of the structure.
