SEISMIC DAMAGE BEHAVIORS OF RC FRAME BUILDINGS IN DUJIANGYAN DURING WENCHUAN EARTHQUAKE
The seismic damage behaviors of RC frame buildings are analyzed after seismic damage investigation about different types of structures in Dujiangyan. The strong beam-weak column is typical behavior based on the seismic damage survey data of more than 200 RC frame buildings. Because most components of the acceleration records of the Wenchuan Earthquake are not published, seismic damages of a RC frame building in Dujianyan is simulated with records of Shenfang Bajiao station, which suffered from the same extremely severity grade damage as Dujiangyan. The results of both simulation and actual seismic damage show the character of strong beam-weak column. It is in contradiction with the requirements of strong column-weak beam design conception from Code for Seismic Design of Buildings GB50011-2001. The enhancement of concrete floor slab for beam stiffening is analyzed in detail. The important information about constructed is useful for designers and researchers.
