WIND PRESSURE STUDY ON A CERTAIN AIRPORT TERMINAL
This paper describes the computational and experimental study on wind pressure of a certain airport terminal (a long-span and complicated skin building). Equivalent roughness height and roughness constant considered for the complicated skin conditions were firstly determined according to equivalent flow field. Then the two parameters were used in the whole structure simulation. Based on Fluent 6.2.36 soft platform with the Realizable k-ε Model and the Non-equilibrium Wall Functions, wind loads acting on the T3 building of the Terminal was computed by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. Wind tunnel test of this building model with 1:250 geometric scale was also carried out in TJ-3 wind tunnel with flow exponent of 0.12. Comparisons between the results from the computation and the wind tunnel test indicated that the precision of CFD numerical simulation techniques is accurate enough to predict the mean wind pressure distribution on complex skin roof for practical purpose.
