HORIZONTAL STATIC LOADING TEST FOR LEAD-RUBBER BEARINGS
The Lead-rubber Bearings (LRBs) that are employed by bridges are subjected to several kinds of horizontal static loading. This paper conducts a horizontal static loading test for the LRBs, which focuses on the effects of various horizontal displacement increments, loading duration time and initial displacements on the static mechanical behaviors of the LRBs. The testing results indicate that the static mechanical behaviors of the LRBs are significantly different with their dynamic behaviors. As the loading duration time and the horizontal displacement are increasing. Static unloading can be observed. Furthermore, the hysteretic loop of the LRBs is insensitive to the initial horizontal displacement.
