A THOROUGH PARALLEL EBCOT CODING SCHEME

摘要：

Since Tierl of the EBCOT consumes most of the computation time in a JPEG2000 encoding system,many people have proposed pass-parallel coding schemes and bit-plane-parallel coding schemes.But their pass-parallel coding schemes are not real pass-parallel coding schemes, the parallelism of EBCOT has not been fully tapped. Recently, the authors discovered a context modeling algorithm.If this algorithm is applied to Tierl of the EBCOT, a real pass-parallel and bit-plane-parallel coding scheme can be realized.
