Research of GPC Implicit Adaptive Algorithm-Based Direct Identification

Based on requirements of theory study and engineering application, a GPC (generalized predictive control) implicit adaptive algorithm was proposed that could adapt the system of time-varying parameters and rather large delay. The GPC algorithm adopted two identifiers to identify controllers parameters directly, so that it could omit computation of inverse matrix and Diophantine equations. As a result, it could greatly reduce operation process and operation time. Moreover, based on characteristics of the traditional identifying algorithm (least squares), the prediction algorithm was introduced and unified with the traditional one to form a new identifying algorithm. The new algorithm improved tracking ability to parameters change of the traditional one, and preserved its merit-less influence by initial value. Finally, the simulation of the proposed GPC algorithm for heat-exchanging process of district heating system was conducted. The simulation results prove the validity of the algorithm.
