A Tree Based Power Controlled Transmission Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network
A good data transmission protocol should balance energy consumption, packets collision and some other factors well. The traditional layer protocol cant sufficiently meet the complex requirement of data transmission, so a cross-layer transmission protocol that is tree based power controlled (TBPC) is proposed. In TBPC, transmission power of regarded as a key factor, and it can be designed a series of levels by use of physical parameters. When the power levels, i.e. communication range is confirmed, a power controlled directed algorithm is studied on, which integrates MAC and routing layer in order to support tree-based data transmission relay routing. Furthermore, taking into account of the relation between node distribution density, a transmission radius threshold is proposed to limit the iteration of routing based father node selection. These crosslayer mechanisms lead nodes to transmit data packets availably and utilize the channel reasonably. With the simulations, the proposed protocol is evaluated in comparison with other related algorithm. The performance of the proposed protocol is verified to be efficient and competent.
