The Influence of the Width of Cantilever Plate of Bay Window on Energy Consumption in the Region of Hot Summer and Cold Winter
According to the hourly typical meteorological data in Nanjing, based on the response coefficient method of rooms, MATLAB is used to analyze the dynamical heating and cooling load of different south windows, as well as to study the yearly energy consumption of the south bay window, which is made of different forms and glass materials and whose width of cantilever plate is from 0.2m to 1.0m. The result shows that the yearly energy consumption of south bay window will be increased with the widths increasing of cantilever plate, but it could be reduced greatly if the bay window is made of energy-saving forms and glass material. And according to the economical efficiency and the request of energy saving 50% of building energy loss saving by region of hot summer and cold winter, its found that to the new buildings, its better that the width of cantilever plate of bay window which is made of PVC forms and insulating glass is less than 0.3m and the width of cantilever plate of bay window which is made of aluminum-plastic forms and Low-e glass is less than 0.4m.
