Ideal Non-Linear Thermal Properties of Building Internal Thermal Mass in a Passive Solar Room Based on a Simplified Thermal Model

A simplified two-plate model is presented to optimize non-linear thermal properties forms of the building internal thermal mass to save energy and improve the indoor thermal comfort of a passive solar room by solving the inverse problem. Multi-scale ten-segment model which separates the non-linear specific heat range into ten constant segments is used to approximate the non-linear thermal properties forms. The ideal non-linear specific heat form of the internal thermal mass for a passive solar room in a typical winter day in Beijing is obtained for different thermal conductivity. The results show that the proposed method can be used to estimate the non-linear “ideal thermal mass effectively;the smaller range of the ten-segment model is used to optimization calculation, the better results can be obtained; the nature room temperature can lie in the comfortable region in a whole day more easily with increasing thermal conductivity.
