Discussion on Improvement of Traditional Dehumidifying Technology

Based on the mass and energy conservation principle and the equilibrium of the vapour pressure, the mathematical model is established with some hypothesises to predict the effect of the dehumidification in the ideal condition. Through comparing the simulation result with the experiment data of the packed-bed dehumidifier, it is found that liquid desiccant consumption of packed bed dehumidifier is much more than that of the ideal condition. A new conception of liquid desiccant dehumidification called atomization dehumidification is discussed here to overcome the disadvantage of the packed-bed dehumidification, in which the dehumidifying process occurs on the surface of the micron liquid desiccant droplets produced with irradiation of ultrasound. The following advantages of this new conception can be drawn: 1.No packing bed exists in this system, all the contacting area is provided by the atomized liquid desiccant without any other auxiliary material so there is more contacting area is created with the same quantity of the liquid desiccant, which is beneficial for the liquid desiccant being used sufficiently; 2. For the sufficient utilization, the consumption of the liquid desiccant becomes lower, and the regeneration energy decreases correspondingly; 3. The air-liquid contacting time can be easily adjusted by changing the length of air-liquid mixing pipeline; 4. In this system, nozzles are not need anymore; solution pump is removed too, so the power consumption is lower too.
