Ezperiment Study on heat dissipation Performance of Heating-only Fan Coil

The renewable technology such as heat pumps and solar panels are more easily available and more viable, so the modem low temperature heating systems are used more and more in the world. Heating-only fan coil(HFC) is one of the suited low temperature heating end users, which is required not only compact, but also high efficient. Under natural air convection and forced, due to the effect of the outlet air swirl of fan, the unreasonable fan structure would cause non-uniformity of inlet air flow field of coil, and thus affected heat transfer performance of coil. After cross-flow fan be used instead of centrifugal fan, the HFC was developed to be the second generation. So in this paper, by measuring the outlet air velocity and temperature field and fin surface temperature field under natural air convection and forced, experimental studies were made on the heat dissipation performance of the first and second generation HFC, The results show that: 1) The uniformity of outlet air velocity field of the second generation HFC was significantly better than the first one under forced air convection, and the air flow rate per motor power of the second generation HFC increases 68%; 2)The uniformity of outlet air temperature field of the second generation HFC was significantly better than the first one under natural air convection and forced, and almost all outlet air temperature values of the second generation HFC is bigger than the first one; 3) The uniformity of fin surface temperature field of the second generation HFC was significantly better than the fust one under natural air convection and forced, and almost all fm surface temperature values of the second generation HFC is less than the first one. 4) The heat dissipation of the second generation HFC increases about 34.3% under natural air convection and the heat dissipation per motor power increases about 102.9% under forced air convection.
