Performance Simulation and Analysis of New Solar Assisted Air-Source Heat Pump Heating System

The research of solar assisted heat pump heating system (a system featured by the combination of solar energy and heat pump) receives increasing attention from people and various kinds of solar assisted heat pump systems have been proposed. To further improve the efficiency of solar and performance of the solar assisted heat pump heating system, the authors of this paper have developed an novel solar assisted air-source heat pump heating system, analyzed the principle and working process of this system in details, and modeled the self-designed solar assisted air-source heat pump heating system with the capacity of 10kW. Take the climate conditions of Nanjing for example, simulation research has been made, which is used to investigate the operational characteristic and performance principle of this heating system. The results show that: compared with the single air-source heat pump heating system, this new system can cut down the electric power consumption by 519.22kW-h and its energy saving rate reaches 8.61% in the whole heating season; meanwhile, the solar utilization rate of 39.5% and the solar equivalent power generation efficiency of 11.47%. This indicates that this heating system is able to improve the working condition of heat pump system and systemic performance, as well as efficiently using the solar energy. This new heating system has a great potential in energy saving and offers a new idea in the option of application mode of solar energy.
