Ezperimental Study of HVAC in a Large Space Atrium in Winter
Basing cylindrical perforated outlet HVAC system, the site-measurements on indoor thermal environment of the Gymnasium in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology was experimental studied in this research. The area of this Gymnasium is about 300 m2, which has the length of 20 m, width of 15 m, at the height of 8 m. The designed air rate total is about 12000 m3/h and the designed cooling/heating upload is 57kW and 59kW respectively. The main conclusions of this study are that the Thermal comfort and heat upload of the large space atrium. By series of experiment the following conclusions can be drawn: Basing cylindrical perforated outlet HVAC system, the maximum fluctuation of the temperature was about 2.5 ℃ and the temperature difference was about 10%. The refrigerating output of the Gymnasium laboratory was 42.9-45.8 kW and the maximum difference is about 2.9 kW. The temperature of the experiment is the higher under the inner roof at the height of 8 meters, and the largest temperature difference between upper and occupant zone were about 4-5℃, and the temperature gradient was about 1℃/m at the roof layer.
