The Application of Dissipative Structure Theory in Evaluation of Urban Air Quality

How to advance and evaluate accurately UAQ has been an important problem in HVAC and environment field. Urban air environment is a composite system of society and nature, and is a dissipative structure. By analysis, the evaluation indexes system, which takes the total amount of suspending granules, sullur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide as reference indexes, and the air synthetic pollution index as verifying index, has been established in this paper. Based on dissipative structure theory and Shannon entropy principle, a quantitative model of urban air quality evaluation has been set up. Based on shannon entropy, the weights of every evaluation index has been calculated. Furthermore, the synthetic value of urban air quality has been calculated by combing with standardization values of all indexes. The synthetic value could be applied to identify the level and synthetic quality of urban air environment. Employing the instance method, the changing trends and the unitary qualities of 31 main cities UAQ from 2003 to 2007 have been analyzed. The disadvantageous index of every city has been shown out. At the same time, it is relatively inosculating when compare the air synthetic pollution index in 2006 with the synthetic value calculated in this paper. The analysis results will provide scientific decisionmaking for improving urban environment quality of city. Analysis results show that the method established in this paper can be applied in evaluation of urban air quality.
