Numerical Simulation on Air dispersion of the Fabric Air Distribution System in Pure-Penetration Mode

As a ventilation terminal, the fabric air distribution system (FADS) can greatly improve the indoor air quality. The heat capacity of FADS in pure-penetration mode is explored and the effect of its layout on the indoor airflow is studied with numerical method. The results show that the FADS in pure-penetration mode mounted on the ceiling with exhaust opening on sidewalls is capable to maintain the comfortable indoor environment when actual heat load does not exceed 145% of the design heat load. It is also found that the air dispersion system with the exhaust opening on the top of sidewalls guarantees a better indoor environment with uniformly temperature, less vertical temperature difference and lower air velocity.
