A Study of the Micro Thermal Environment Planning of a Commercial District
In this paper, our research is focused on commercial district planning process, with the aid of GIS and SketchUp software, a common digital relief map model of a commercial district can be created, upon it, the air distribution (both velocity and temperature) within this commercial district is also be created by CFD simulation. The worse flow area and overheat area can be well indicated. Depending on a certain commercial district planning model, from the air parameters of the micro environment, e.g. air velocity and air temperature at any location in the commercial district, the index of micro thermal environment for the air distribution evaluation can be obtained by certain principles and data processing process. By this index, the commercial district planning scheme can be evaluated corresponding to the thermal characteristics of the commercial district. If this index is not good enough or unsatisfied, we can change or improve our commercial district planning idea and process in order to get a better thermal characteristics of the commercial district judged by our established evaluation index system. So, our research work introduced in this paper is very useful and practical for city designers to plan a city or a commercial district with a good thermal environment and low energy consumption characteristics. Our research work can also be used to do the comparison analysis of thermal environment among variety of commercial district planning schemes.
