A Performance Study on Dehumidification Systems using a Thermosyphon-based Heat Pipe Heat Ezchanger

In this paper, a dehumidification system using a thermosyphon-based heat pipe heat exchanger (HPHX) was studied experimentally. This research was an investigation into how the sensible heat ratio (SHR) of the HPHX was influenced by each of two key parameters of the inlet air state, namely, dry-bulb temperature (DBT), relative humidity (RH). The results indicated that the moisture removal capability was enhanced significantly by the HPHX for high DBT and Relative RH. So, on the basis of this study, we can conclude that the HPHX saves energy obviously.
