Ezperimental Study on Thermal Environment in a Large Space Building with a Low Sidewall Air Supply

The thermal environment characteristics of different forms of low sidewall air supply, different air volumes and different outdoor meteorological parameters in a large space building were experimentally studied. It can be conclude that the indoor vertical temperature distributions of different cases represented a good similar trend. The maximum vertical temperature difference (MVTD) was about 20~C, and the vertical temperature grad could be shown in three zones with different temperature grads. The vertical temperature grad (VTG) of the upper zone was affected by sol-air temperature mostly, which was in the range of 1~3℃/m. And the VTG in the central zone was influenced by sol-air temperature and supply air volume, which was nearly 1℃/m less than that in the upper zone under the conditions of experiments. While the weak grad changes in the lower zone appeared. In the entire vertical direction, the relations between MVTD and the sol-air temperature may be approximately linear to each other. PMV in the occupied zone was a little higher because of the small air velocity. It could be conducted that the indoor air design temperature in occupied zone should be lower to meet the same comfort requirement. Besides, majority of the vertical temperature difference (head-ankles) was more than 3℃.
