Analysis of the Under-Floor Air Supply System
This paper introduces the UFAD air conditioning system, gives its working principal and analysis its benefits and disadvantages. Delivering comfort, Saving energy and Improving indoor-air quality are UFAD systems primary benefits. The biggest disadvantage of the technology are Plenum leakage and thermal decay. Using under-floor-air-distribution promise multiple benefits, including improved occupant satisfaction by providing control over personal air supply through use of manually adjustable diffusers; making building systems more flexible and easily reconfigurable; improving room ventilation by delivering fresh air closer to occupants; and reducing building energy; and improved coolingcycle efficiency. However, the UFAD systems are not right for every building. There are still some challenges for the UFAD system, Such as the initial cost, the plenum leakage problems and so on. For its comfort, clear indoor air environment and other significant benefits, the UFAD system is being wide used in engineering applications.
