Natural Ventilation in a Railway Station Waiting Room
The energy consumption of air conditioning of railway station waiting room is very large, because of the large space, high staff density. The research on the model of ventilation and air conditioning of the railway station waiting room has important significance for energy conservation and emission reduction. Natural ventilation is the most efficient ventilation, because it doesnt need air-conditioning equipment, save the operation cost and investment. The demand of indoor temperature of railway station waiting room can be lower than the general air conditioning room, because of the short stay, plenty of fresh air brought by natural ventilation. Using natural ventilation in the railway station waiting room has great potential of energy conservation. The adaptability of natural ventilation should be studied because natural ventilation quantity is closely related to local climatic conditions, the form of waiting room and the form of building envelope. The building energy simulation program (EnergyPlus) was used to simulate the ventilation rate and the energy consumption of the railway station waiting room when the ratio and space between high and low windows were changed. The heat comes from internal people and lights were given according to standard. The ventilation rate and the energy consumption of the railway station waiting room of the typical city of severe cold region, cold region, hot summer and cold winter areas, hot summer and warm winter areas and mild region were calculated. After analyzing and comparing the calculated results, the applicability of natural ventilation in railway station waiting room was gained in climatic region.
