An Ezperimental Study on Continuous and Intermittent Control for Radiant Floor Heating System with DSHP
An experimental study on continuous and intermittent control for a new kind of radiant floor heating system using refrigerant flow as directly heating medium was studied in this paper. The two control modes were compared in terms of thermal comfort and energy consumption by measured indoor and outdoor air temperatures, humidity and energy consumption. The result shows that the system was capable of creating a comfortable environment in both operating modes. During the continuous operating mode, the tin, two, tf were small variation and not varied by outdoor environment. The vertical gradient of temperature between bodys ankle (0.1m) and head (1.75m) was about 0.4℃. While during the intermittent operating mode, there were a 2℃ variation in room air-temperature (21-23℃) and a 4℃ variation in the floor-slab temperature (23-27℃). The vertical gradient of temperature between bodys ankle (0.1m) and head (1.75m) was about 0.5℃. When using intermittent heating mode, heating time could be reduced, leading to more than 30% energy saving compared with the continuous mode in the experimental conditions. The thermal comfort and energy saving of the intermittent operating mode will be further enhanced when a new kind of thermal insulation material for wall and optimizing control strategy of building automatic systems are used in the heating system.
