Bottlenecks of Straw Densification Briquetting Fuel (SDBF) Application in China
The research on straw densification briquetting fuel (SDBF) technology has attracted great attention due to the shortage of fossil energy resources in recent twenty years in China. The success in the research and the practical application of stick, pellet SDBF machines and burning equipments has established the foundation of SDBF industrialization. However, there still exist three bottleneck issues, i.e. straw resource collecting, mechanical attrition of the equipments in molding process, clinker sediment and corrosion of the hearth in combustion process, which greatly limit the further development of SDBF. However, no thorough study has been done on these issues so far. In this paper, the causes and the effects of these three issues are analyzed based on the study of the characteristics and mechanisms of the SDBF technology, and the practical application cases. The clues of solutions to these issues and the suggestions to the development model of SDBF molding technology in China are also proposed.
