Effect Of Carbon Fiber On Thermal Properties Of n-DocosanePhase Change Materials
Carbon fiber (CF) is a good heat conductor, and the thermal conductivity of Phase Change Material (PCM) can be improved by being mixed with CF. In this study, the composite PCM was prepared by blending CF and n-Docosane and its thermal performance was tested using the method of Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC) analysis and Thermogravimetric/Differential Thermal Analysis (TG/DTA). In addition, the influence of the mixing amount and the length of CF on the thermal conductivity of paraffin were investigated. The results showed that the melting point of n-Docosane was increased from 40.2℃ to 50.8℃ after being mixed with CF. The storing heat velocity and the discharging heat velocity increased with an increase in mixing amount of CF. Moreover, the length of CF also an influencing factor of the endothermic velocity of n-Docosane.
