Investigation and Comparison for Building and Transportation Energy Consumption in Typical Cities in China
Building energy consumption of urban residents and the passenger transport energy consumption, defined as the energy use in consumption sector, is the main part of urban energy consumption for developed cities. Different from the energy use in the manufacturing sector, the energy use in consumption sector is highly relative with the personal lifestyle. An investigation of the energy consumption in Beijing, Yinchuan, Shenyang, Suzhou Wuhan and Shanghai has been carried out, and the energy use in domestic, work sector, transportation sector and leisure parts has been calculated respectively combined with investigation data and simulation model. The conclusion of that the energy consumption level is relatively low compared with the cases in foreign countries, however, in every city a certain group whose energy use are much higher than the average level have emerged. The paper analyses the different mode of life between different cities and the different groups in the same cities, then the feature of high energy use group has been found.
