Study on the Fluctuations of Cooling Load and Natural Room Temperature of Different Indoor Zones
In summer, the cooling load and natural room temperature in large space are usually not uniform. The cooling load and natural room temperature of different indoor zones are investigated by respectively using the improved Radiant Time Series Method (RTS) and the DeST software, which helps with the understanding of the distribution and variations of these parameters. The results indicate that: different indoor zones, though having the same size and internal heat sources, have significantly difference in cooling load and natural room temperature during a calculation day. The reason for that is due to different locations relative to the outdoor environment (sunlight, outdoor sol-air temperature, etc.). The zones adjacent to the envelope always have more cooling load and higher natural room temperature than those of the others. Moreover, this paper has studied some influential parameters such as the area ratio of window to wall, the air change rate and the orientations of the south-facing wall. It can be concluded that: the difference between two zones are more significant with greater area ratio of window to wall, vice versa. Air change rate has great effect on the natural room temperature of the zones; however, it has negligible impact on the room cooling load distribution. The room with less deflection angle has less difference in cooling load and natural room temperature of different zones. Besides, it is found that the two maximum difference appearing in the east-facing rooms is temporally later than that in the west-facing rooms.
