Regional Policies and Economic Growth: An Empirical Study Based on Jiangsu Provinces Development Ezperience

摘要：

Governments regional policies play a key role in promoting economic growth of undeveloped regions. This paper studies the relationship between regional policies and economic growth of Middle and North Jiangsu areas by using the panel data of city-level, which based on reviewing the evolvement of Jiangsus regional policies. Jiangsu province has implemented regional policies massively since 2001, which have effectively improved the economic growth of middle and north Jiangsu areas. With the industry being transferred from South to Middle and North Jiangsu areas, the growth effects of low labor-cost, large FDI as well as well infrastructure are strengthened, but which of human capital was weakened. Thus, Jiangsu regional policies should adjust to paying attention to the quality of industries transferred, and then, enhance the contribution of human capital to Middle and North Jiangsu areas economic growth.
